Anyone who knows me knows that I LOVE Coke/Pepsi (I'm not really picky). I only like cold drinks; I don't drink coffee or tea, I very rarely have hot chocolate, and I can't stand the taste of iced tea.
And, I don't do any of that diet stuff. Only the real stuff!
On most occasions, I would MUCH rather drink a Coke than anything alcoholic. (Unless it's my birth-month, of course!) And, when I go out to eat, ordering a glass of water is just, plain boring. I mean, really, doesn't this just look refreshing and delicious?!
Well, I knew this day would come. . . I have to give up the pop. I don't want to say goodbye forever. It just needs to be a controlled substance in my house. Pop is my crack! I won't be buying any more to keep at the house, and I will only occasionally have one elsewhere. I've given it up before, and I lost 20# in like 4 months!
The confirmation letter from the FRidge says that they serve no caffeinated drinks, so I need to go cold turkey before I leave. So, here is my very last pop for a while. (But, I LOVE it!) I will miss you. . . Naaaah, that's a set-up, right?
I WILL miss the bubbles!
I will not miss the extra pounds pop puts on my hips.
I will not miss that dull headache after having too many.
I will not miss all those chemicals eating away at my bones.
I'll just have to drink sparkling water and a splash of fruit juice.
Has anyone else ever overcome this "addiction"?
7 more wake up days! Woo-hoo!
Rob and I have been addicted to diet pop FOREVER and gave it up earlier this year; it was a financial issue for us, really -- we can go to Disney World for the amount of money we used to spend in a year on pop. Since it was diet, it didn't really do anything for us in terms of weight loss to give it up, but we do feel fewer cravings for food, which means we eat a bit less now. We're still doing caffeine, but not as much.
ReplyDeleteREALLY?! You can go to Disney World for the amount you save? I'm shocked! Hmmm. . . Maybe a Hawaii trip for us! LOL Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I have given up the caffeine addiction. You know me, I still have to smell it, crave it, & bitch about it sometimes. Overall, though, it makes me a stronger person when I say no. I know it hurts my body to ingest caffeine (and sugar, and every carb in the world) but every time I say no I remember that I am in control of how my body feels and that I am a strong individual who can make her own decisions, no matter how the main stream thinks I should feel/think/eat. I know you can do this because I know you are a strong, beautiful, powerful woman. And I believe in you, & I love you. That's right, F you soda! =)
ReplyDeleteI know you can do it! I used to drink 6 Dr. Peppers a day!! GROSS! =( I started drinking water and I felt so much better and lost weight too...fast! You'll feel better and look better. You can have soda once in awhile and you'll enjoy it all the more and then eventually you wont even like it anymore! It will taste too sugary and bubbly (at least that's how I feel now). Anyway, you can do it...good luck!!! xoxo
